Friendship, and an understated love of the finer things brought Amici to life. The Valaisan Village of Champoussin has been my second home for many years and although my friends and I love this hidden gem I wanted to share it with the world.
The Campania region in southern Italy is infamous for its delicious rustic cuisine that takes full advantage of the abundance of local ingredients. Amici's menu which takes it influence from Campania is no different, priding itself on the Campania custom of using only true Italian ingredients from the sun-kissed vegetables to the fresh farm house cheeses.
Located within Campania's Cilento National Park, the San Salvatore vines grow on an ancient land, rich in history and tradition and never touched by intensive agriculture. The vineyard founded in 1988 prides itself on its all natural processes and treatments to cultivate the land. Their ethos revolves heavily on being kind to the environment while maximising the taste of the wine it produces.
The beautiful region of the Portes du Soleil offers over 650kms of pistes weaved between France and Switzerland. The hidden gem of Champoussin lies at an altitude of 1600m in the shadow of the majestic Dents du Midi.
